Is Your Heart Broken Due To Death, Divorce, Or Another Painful Loss?
Do you feel lost or trapped in grief?
Hello, beautiful soul. I want you to know you’re not alone. Whether it’s the heartache from a significant loss or the weight of a lifetime of painful experiences, your feelings are valid, and they might not feel good right now.
Let Me Ask You:
Are you exhausted from carrying this burden?
Do you struggle to get through the day?
Do you feel disconnected from who you truly are?
Are you haunted by memories, afraid you’ll never enjoy life the way you used to?
Does every smile bring a twinge of guilt?
Do you think, “I should be over this by now,” even though it feels like it was just yesterday?
Do you feel empty, like a shell of the person you once were?
Do you wonder if you’ll ever find a “new normal?”
Have you tried therapy and support groups or read all the books, and nothing seemed to help long-term?
These feelings are a natural part of the human experiences. Your journey through grief is uniquely yours, and it’s okay to feel everything you’re feeling, including anger, resentment, or bitterness.
But, here’s a gentle reminder: Hope is the belief that things can improve, that life can be better, and that your current realty is temporary.
Embrace this idea, and you open the door to new possibilities.
You can feel better, but it requires action. If you continue to do the same thing, expecting different results, you’re stuck in a cycle that doesn’t serve you.
The path of grief is about embracing unconditional love and acceptance. It’s about finding compassion for yourself in every moment and understanding that you are enough just as you are.
You are a powerful being who is capable of feeling better. You are not “broken,” and nothing is wrong with you. If you seek understanding and clarity in your grief process, you’re in the right place.
Do you feel powerful? If not, that feeling of disempowerment can chip away at your spirit.
Just because you’ve experienced trauma or loss doesn’t mean that your life is in despair.
You can rebuild yourself into a version that feels whole again.
You may not identify as a “griever,” and that’s perfectly okay.
Have you ever wished an experience or relationship were different, better, or more fulfilling?
Have you felt the loss of hopes, dreams, and expectations?
If you answered “yes” to either question, you are grieving something or someone.
After going through this process and releasing some of my core grief, I feel much more present in my life, my sense of self-worth has risen, and I feel more clear on my purpose with respect to my career and future. Life is good.
– Kevin B.
Do Grief Differently™️ is a 12-week program designed to help you move beyond the pain of grief and reveal an empowered, more resilient you without the pain.
You will learn new tools, gain self-awareness, and feel lighter, hopeful, and more confident at the end of our time together. Most importantly, the emotional pain of your grief will be a thing of the past.
Do Grief Differently™️ addresses the whole YOU with and without grief. Through evidence-based steps and assessments, you will better understand (and believe) that nothing is wrong with you. There is nothing about you that needs to be fixed.
We’re all shaped by our environments and experiences, and in doing this work, you will naturally (and gradually) shift your perspective of those experiences.
If you are ready and willing to take the necessary actions to help yourself, this program is for you.
There are more than 43 major life events that result in grief! Here are only a few…
Job Loss Loss of Health Natural Disaster
Loss of Trust Loss of Physical Function
the loss of hopes, dreams, and expectations…
anything you wish would’ve been, or could’ve been, different, better, or more…
it’s reaching out for someone you love one more time, only to realize they’re no longer there…
People say you must let go and move on, but they don’t tell you how. The Do Grief Differently™️ program teaches you how to recover from loss with supportive guidance every step of the way.
The 1-on-1 Action Program is exactly what it suggests: you work on your own recovery guided by Victoria, an Advanced Certified Grief Recovery Method Specialist Certified by the Grief Recovery Institute. You are guided through the exact same process I went through to process my own losses.
You also receive holistic self-discovery of your strengths, values, skills, and how you’re wired. All of these create what is called your YouMap®. With this information, you will gain even more insight into the specifics of your grief. And, once the emotional “stuff” has been addressed, and you feel lighter, more confident, and prepared to handle future challenges, you’ll find yourself excited about what’s possible.
There is no need to wait – no matter how recent the loss, this action-based program will help you complete the unfinished business generated by any loss and allow you, the griever, to return to a full state of “aliveness.”
How long are sessions, and how do we meet?
Sessions are generally two hours or less; we meet on Google Meet., and you don’t need a Google Meet account.
What if I'm not very comfortable with technology?
I do not want technology to hinder the program. Please book a consultation with me to discuss these concerns or email me at victoria [at] theunleashedheart [dot] com. You do receive a lot of guidance along the way, though.
Is there support between sessions?
Yes, of course! There are three ways to communicate with me that are provided once you become a client. It’s very important to me that you feel supported throughout the program (and after).
Is this only for working on the death of a loved one?
All losses are welcome! Death, divorce, and diagnosis are the most common, but there are over 40 losses that cause grief. No one has to die for you to grieve. Often, those closest to us who are living can cause us to have feelings of grief. This is especially true in the case of estrangement.
I've been diagnosed with depression/anxiety - is this for me?
When it comes to depression/anxiety, to be a participant, we look at the severity. We all experience depressive episodes in our lives, and mild anxiety is normal and common. To complete this program, you should be able to function in your day-to-day life, express yourself, and focus and complete the heart work contained within the program.
What can I expect from our time together?
During each session, you’ll be welcomed into a confidential, non-judgmental space where you’ll be expected to share the truth of your story as it happened to you. You’ll also be expected to complete weekly reading and heart-work assignments.
From me, you can expect open ears and an open heart ready to receive your story, complete honesty (it’s one of my values), and my committment to your success. I’m also available to answer logistical questions about the program or technology concerns.
What do I need?
Firstly, an open mind and heart! Logistically, though, a stable internet connection is needed to join sessions and access the heart work, and an email account is required to receive emails. The book will be mailed to you directly. Also, if you have access to print the weekly heart work, great! If not, no worries – you can use a notebook with the heart work as your guide.
Do I have to attend every week?
Yes, your recovery is a direct reflection of your participation. If you miss a session, you’ll be asked to reschedule and will incur an additional $100 no-show fee. Although I understand emergencies happen, if you need to reschedule, please contact me 24 hours prior.
How is Do Grief Differently™️ different from therapy?
Do Grief Differently™️ is a series of steps specifically designed to help you recover from major loss within a set time frame. Unlike traditional therapy, Do Grief Differently comes with a pre-established framework, a distinct focus on grief, and a limited number of meetings.
This program is not therapy; however, it is very therapeutic. You also learn new tools and information that will serve you in all areas of your life for years beyond our time together.
How is your program different from others out there?
Do Grief Differently™️ combines my knowledge and expertise with the processes of two programs (The Grief Recovery Method® and YouMap®) that honor individuality and uniqueness.
Just as our life paths are unique, so is our grieving. Do Grief Differently™️ is designed with the end in mind and the framework to get there. There is nothing like it, as it specifically includes an evidence-based framework for moving beyond the pain of grief. Also, there’s no one else like you who has also lived your story. This program honors you and your story.
Together in Do Grief Differently™️, we unleash your heart of suffering and help you discover the next steps that aren’t based on anyone else’s values but your own.

How do I get started?
Before we begin, it’s important that we become acquainted first. This is deep work, and I want to give you every opportunity to ask questions as well. Get on my schedule HERE so we can virtually meet, and we’ll go from there.
– Roxanne J.
If you’ve stuck with me this far on the page, something within you is nudging you. And yet, I also know there’s a strong possibility that something within you is pulling away. After doing this work for over six years now, and from personal experience, I can tell you our logic-monkey-mind game is strong.
If you’re like me, you’ve experienced enough loss to last several lifetimes. Many of us can only hope that the worst has already happened.
What do you have to lose by scheduling a call? Investing in yourself? Investing in your future? Positively impacting the lives of those around me (as you feel better, you show up as a healthier version of yourself).
I want you to see in your mind’s eye what is possible if you give this deep work a chance. Please read the following reviews shared by some of my clients for the Grief Recovery Method website. Do you see yourself in their stories and reflections?
Take a chance on yourself to discover your inner spark and unleash your heart of its suffering.
What will I learn and why is it a part of Do Grief Differently™️?
Unlike Myers Briggs, Enneagram, DISC, or any other assessment you’ve ever taken, YouMap® is a holistic, self-discovery tool that takes into consideration not only your personality traits, but also what you like to do, and what you value.
You will learn more about yourself, and not only that, what to do with the information. Your YouMap® is, quite literally, a map of YOU and your guide moving forward after the grief has been addressed!
Learn what to do with yourself by knowing yourself! When you know yourself, you don’t look to others to tell you who you are!
Who is YouMap® for?
YouMap® is for those who want a guide-post to refer to in initiating a change in career, learn their blind spots, understand themselves better, and, my favorite, learn how grief impacts them and how to navigate it – based on their individuality.
Those Who May Also Consider YouMap®:
- Military Personnel/Veterans Transitioning
- Entrepreneurs
- Stay-at-Home Parents
- College or College-Bound Students
- Youth/Teens (there are programs specific to Youth/Teens)

Meet Your Guide
I sought affirmation from others most of my life; being afraid to “rock the boat” or make the wrong decision.
Grief and trauma were the catalysts for all of the confusion and emotional dis-ease I felt.
I did not know myself. However, I did know I felt like I was going crazy.
Grief Recovery changed my life and continues to be the reason I do everything I do today.
Gone are the days of not being comfortable in my own skin, being unsure of myself, and having to look to others to vet my ideas or decisions before taking action. Or, worrying about what I want to be when I grow up (as so many of us feel well into our 30s and 40s).
YouMap® was my affirmation that the work I do today is in full alignment with my strengths, values, skills, and how I’m wired.
I got here first, though, by ridding myself of decades of suffering. And, that’s why I believe YouMap® & Grief Recovery together in Do Grief Differently™️, are the perfect pair for helping hurting hearts LIVE UNLEASHED.
I spent a lot of frustrated childhood years dreaming about that, and yet I had totally forgotten about it [until this work].
For so long, I have never felt particularly committed to any career path or journey. Now I know what was blocking me.
For the first time, I am feeling more free to be me than I have ever felt.
– Angela

Here are some 2020 Career Stats to illustrate how impactful our careers really are:
- Nearly 75% of employees quit their boss, not their job.
- 79% of employees would refuse a higher-paying job from a company that failed to act against sexual harassment.
- 45% of employees believe they have gained weight at their current job.
- More than one-half of all American workers are disengaged at work.
- Workers whose input is encouraged and appreciated are four times as likely to be more productive.
- 96% of employees think showing empathy is an important way to increase employee retention.
I didn’t dig too deep for statistics, but you don’t have to. I also know that grief, on top of job dissatisfaction, costs the economy billions of dollars every year. According to the 2003 Grief Index Study conducted by The Grief Recovery Institute, the financial losses to businesses due to grief in the workplace was over seventy-five billion dollars (that’s $75B – with a “B”)!
YouMap® is vital for hiring, career-pathing and exploration, leadership and team development, succession planning, and off-boarding. It matters because YOU matter. And, when you understand WHY you matter, and the contribution you make to the world, that’s empowering knowledge.
The Four Pillars of Satisfaction
– Patsy K.
YouMap® is a guided, personal journey that includes the four pillars of satisfaction.
Youmap® provides the info & then helps answer the question:
“Now what?”
The Grief Recovery Method® moves you through your most emotionally charged losses so you can stop looking in the rearview mirror in your life.
Grief Recovery helps you answer the question: “What’s Next?”
Do Grief Differently™️ will, without a doubt in my mind, give you more inner peace, clarity, and direction than anything else you’ve tried that hasn’t yet worked for you. Why? Because this program is uniquely tailored to YOU and your life experience.
Considering our jobs and careers occupy the majority of our time, aside from sleeping, job or career satisfaction is an impactful source of grief if we’re in a position that’s misaligned with who we are or our values are being dishonored.
Victoria met me where I was at. She was patient, not pushy, flexible, and not rigid. Do Grief Differently is a tool for managing things you can’t control. Because of this work, I know, and more importantly believe now, that what I experienced wasn’t my fault; it’s as if a weight was lifted from my shoulders.
– Shaune B.
